I enjoy delving into technology to build meaningful solutions for society. With an entrepreneurial slant, I bring creativity and zest to the teams I am fortunate to be part of. Currently, I am working as a data scientist, delivering insights to empower business decisions with AI and ML.

Previously, I conducted AI research for Alibaba Inc under the EDB-Industrial Postgraduate Programme. I specialized in improving natural language processing (NLP) models on core language tasks, such as language modeling and parsing. This led to two key research works, FastTrees and Orchard. To aid my learning, I pen my findings and thoughts on this AI blog.

Previously, I launched Cokun with some friends, where we provided a resting pod rental service in NTU. I learnt a lot from this entrepreneurship experience, having led the team in marketing, procurement of pod and supplies, logistics, maintenance, financial management, and stakeholder management. We raised $15k in funding from accelerators, were featured on national media, and won 1st runner-up in a business plan competition. But above all, the most rewarding experience was having served over 400 staff and students in NTU, with 95% reporting interest to use the service again. All things considered, we found the business not financially viable, and decided to donate the pod to the university.

I was a Summer Technology Analyst at JPMorgan in 2018, where my main task involved building dashboards on an incident reporting platform using Angular. The internship gave me a taste of how software engineering is done in a global firm, through Scrum stand-ups with engineers from the UK and India, and undergoing code reviews on Git. One particular highlight of this stint was prototyping a voice-based authentication and chatbot system during the firm-wide Global Hackathon, representing the Singapore office as the top solution and placing 2nd runner-up in the Asia Pacific round. Post-hackathon, we worked with our mentor to obtain the buy-in from APAC leaders, with plans made to embark on development.

My other internship stints include: Design Engineering in NCH Corporation over a summer in Texas, where I built an autonomous system to dispense chemicals; Mechanical Engineering in SE3D Inc for 6 months in California, where I designed 3D printers and wrote engineering drawings for manufacturing; Management consulting projects with various start-ups and an MNC in Singapore and Sweden, conducting market analyses and presenting go-to-market strategies using a data-driven approach.

I thoroughly enjoyed my inter-disicplinary education in NTU spanning the various fields of Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management. In 2018, I graduated with a Masters in Technology Management, Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, and a Minor in Entrepreneurship.

In my free time, I enjoy adventure sports like windsurfing, kayaking, and diving, to clear my mind from the hustle and bustle.
